Resources Programme
This programme seeks to support the development and dissemination of resources for the promotion and protection of children’s rights, and includes the management of RAPCAN’s Resource Centre which aims at raising levels of knowledge and understanding concerning child abuse and related issues.
Programme Activities
Resource Development
RAPCAN has developed a range of resources and materials over the years. These resources have included posters, books and pamphlets and the material still remains popular with a wide audience.
Resource Production and Dissemination
RAPCAN has produced a set of three new posters (sexual harassment; childrens rights and responsibilities; keeping children safe) which were disseminated countrywide through the provincial Offices of the Rights of the Child and other government departments. RAPCAN also liaises with other local and international organisations that wish to partner with us in resource development, or that wish to use RAPCAN resources in other countries. In 2006/7, we collaborated with UNICEF Malawi in the production of a Malawi edition of our childrens book, A Trolley Full of Rights.
RAPCAN Website
The RAPCAN website is maintained by the Resources Programme and we strive to keep it current. We have expanded the range of material available e.g. articles contributed by staff. We have organised information through some broad subject areas to facilitate information searching.
Resource Centre
RAPCAN provides a Resource Centre which houses a range of materials relating to childrens rights and child protection. The Resource Centre seeks to raise levels of knowledge relating to children and children's rights.
