The Child Protection and Support Services Programme (CPSS) promotes and protects the rights of children within the criminal justice system through the facilitation of multi-disciplinary services for children and their caregivers for the advancement of both healing and justice.

Child Witness Project Toolkit

In implementing its Child Witness Project in the Sexual Offences Courts, RAPCAN has been mindful of the need to increase access to these services for children all over the country. In response to this objective, the Child Witness Toolkit was developed. This is a comprehensive set of documents that will enable RAPCAN's model for child witness services to be established elsewhere.

The RAPCAN Child Witness Project Model

RAPCAN provides child witness support services to children, their families and other witnesses in five Sexual Offences Courts in and around Cape Town. This service is currently located in the Sexual Offences Courts in Atlantis, Cape Town, Khayelitsha, Paarl and Wynberg.
